  1. Hey,
    Did you see this?

There is a video on the bottom of that page. :

What relays are those again? Are you using the single brain or 2? Did you find the slipring? The one Larry recommended is currently unavailable on Amazon.
    Still nothing from Larry btw.

    1. There is now a new forum at: https://3dprinteddroids.com/

  2. Hi Chris
Fantastic ling and video, got to do that one.
The relays are from ebay , just search for 8-channel relay board for Arduino.
I need to look out the slip ring I bought, its because I have yet to fit I have forgotten about it. I searched for slip rings on ebay and bought a few to see what would fit, as there are a few body sizes available.
For the droid I am only planning on using one EZB-device in the body but possibly another in the dome.
    Weird about the forum.

  3. Hi Kyle,
Forum: I've seen it before where the admin sets it up and then forgets about it for ages. Martyman and others said they offered to moderate but he won't respond.

    Relays: ah, thanks.

Brain: Okay. I'm going with the Arduino in the head and the Raspberry Pi 3+ in the body. Eventually I'd like to make R2 smart. :)

Link: I am not sure about it now. I have printed the top, base, and a couple other little bits but then stopped. I've been talking to the maker on Thingiverse. Apparently it is supposed to sit on top of that bar that is a part of that dome gear that I've been having issue with. That is in 3 pieces. So, can you imagine something that weighs a kilo or more sitting on that and doing stuff? I'm a bit leery about it now.

BTW curse you and your Dobby! I told the brat pack about it and they are egging me on to make him too! lol My youngest nephew's girl friend is a Potter fanatic like some of the other kids. They are all (4-6 of the brats) moving to AZ next week into a 2 story house with a cubby under the stairs. (the brat pack start ASU at the end of the month) They've got me printing Potter signs and stuff for it. lol
I told them about your Dobby and they want a life sized one to guard their Potter stash.

    1. I like the idea of a life size Dobby! Its annoying about the forum, maybe that's why the Facebook page has taken off so well.
I agree about that 3-part cross piece in the dome not being anywhere near strong enough. Would need to be redesigned. Interested in how you will use the Pi and Arduino, keep me in the loop on that, particularly with the code you use.

    2. Dobby: Well, it won't happen for a while, I'm still printing droid parts. I did pause to print them a lot of little things, figurine busts, the Deathly Hallows shadow thing, the sign they wanted, and a Mandrake root baby. lol I forgot to get pics though dang it!

I decided yeah, the gear and cross piece need to be redesigned to support it. I'm going to take a stab at it when I finish my current book.

Code: I don't even want to think about that! Gah, my last foray in coding was VB over 8 years ago. I'm a bit of a cut and paste person these days.

    3. I finally managed to get a bit of time today to do some work on my Droid. Sanded the upper two rings and hopefully tomorrow will get some undercoat on much of the unpainted parts. Plus an arm dropped off my InMoov!

    4. Cool!
Unfortunately, dad has the garage for the time being so I can do only a little except 3D print stuff. Glad you are making some progress.
      Arm: Yipe!
